Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) and Dani Pedrosa have mutually decided to part ways at the end of the 2018 MotoGP championship. The Repsol Honda team has been second home to Pedrosa with an 18 year partnership, across three classes in MotoGP. The rider has been instrumental in the development of the team and the motorcycles over the years. However, with Pedrosa failing to deliver the numbers over the past races, the top bosses at Honda decided it was beneficial for the team to look elsewhere.

This year, the Rainforest Challenge will be held from 21st July to 28th July, 2018 at Goa.

Valentino Rossi took his first pole position since Motegi 2016 at the end of the MotoGP Italian Grand Prix qualifying session. The nine-time world champion reiterated he's a master of two wheels recording a lap of 1m46.208s and managed to beat former teammate Jorge Lorenzo by less than half a tenth of a second at his home track in Mugello. Completing the first row is Maverick Vinales on the second Yamaha, finishing 0.096s behind his teammate.

The multiple time champion and former racer will take the Energica Ego Corsa for a demo lap of Mugello to promote the MotoE series set to debut in 2019.
