Here is a quick look on the discounts that two-wheeler manufacturers are offering on some of the mass market bikes and scooters following the ban on sales and registration of BS III vehicles from 1 April, 2017.

Yamaha India has introduced its BS IV compliant range of motorcycles and scooters in India. There are no mechanical changes to the engines.

Manufacturers were supposed to make their existing models BS IV compliant by 1 April 2017, and a few have managed to meet this deadline. But there is still a huge stock of unsold vehicles left in the market which are BS III compliant.

Emflux Motors, a Bengaluru-based technological start-up, is in the process of designing and developing what will be India's first electric superbike. The electric sportbike will be comparable to 600-650 cc motorbikes with internal combustion engines in terms of performance, with a top speed of 170 kmph and 0-100 kmph acceleration in just 3.5 seconds.

The Triumph Bonneville Bobber, the newest addition to Triumph's modern classic range was launched in India at a price of Rs. 9.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Bonnie Bobber shares the engine platform with the Bonneville T120 but is in a different state of tune.

Mahindra 2Wheelers inaugurated the Mahindra Mojo Exclusive dealership in Bangalore. The first-of-its-kind motorcycle-centric outlet is aimed at retailing the company's flagship offering and has been designed as a one-stop-shop for existing and new Mojo owners. The dealership is also the first of many showrooms that the company plans to set up and will not only come with a display area but service support as well.
