Two-Wheeler Sales November 2021: Bajaj Domestic Sales Decline 23 Per Cent

Bajaj Auto has reported overall sales volumes for November 2021, and overall volumes of two-wheelers and commercial vehicles are down 10 per cent, at 3,79,276 compared to 4,22,240 units despatched in November 2020. Overall two-wheeler sales of Bajaj declined by 12 per cent in November 2021, with 3,38,473 units sold, compared to 3,84,993 units sold in November 2020. While India's largest two-wheeler exporter's overseas two-wheeler sales remain more or less flat, domestic two-wheeler sales declined 23 per cent, down from 1,88,196 units in November 2020 to 1,44,953 units in November 2021.

In fact, Bajaj Auto's total domestic sales (including both two-wheelers and commercial vehicles) declined by 20 per cent in November 2021, down to 1,58,755 units from 1,98,933 units in November 2020. Overall exports of Bajaj Auto remained flat with 2,20,521 units in November 2021, compared to 2,23,307 units in November 2020. Commercial vehicle sales however are on an upswing in the domestic market, with sales of 13,802 units in November 2021, recording a growth of 29 per cent over November 2020, with 10,737 units.

In the April to November 2021 period, overall two-wheeler sales of Bajaj Auto remained flat, with volumes of 11,74,391 units, compared to 11,93,002 units during April to November 2020 period, when India was under a strict lockdown due to the pandemic. However, two-wheeler exports during the period seem to have picked up, with Bajaj Auto recording 14,84,605 unit sales in overseas markets during the April to November 2021 period, recording a growth of 45 per cent over 10,26,675 units exported during the April to November 2020 period.
Bajaj Auto is the world's third largest manufacturer of motorcycles, and India's biggest exporter of motorcycles, with overseas sales across 70 countries. Bajaj Auto has its manufacturing facilities at Chakan, near Pune, Waluj near Aurangabad, and at Pantnagar in Uttarakhand.
