What's New?
The Bajaj Dominar 250 was launched at a price point of Rs. 1,54,176 (ex-showroom) in the Indian market and gets a single STD variant. The Dominar 250 is the baby version of the bigger Dominar 400 sibling. The company is targeting a bigger customer base with the intelligently positioned Dominar 250. The bike will compete with the likes of the Suzuki Gixxer 250, Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and KTM 250 Duke among other rivals. The Dominar 250 also has the same dimensions as the Bajaj Dominar 400, measuring approximately 2,156 mm, 836 mm and 1,112 mm by way of length, width and height respectively. The Bajaj Dominar 250 comes in two colour options, namely Canyon Red and Vine Black.
The bike gets a beam-type perimeter frame that has 37 mm USD fork in front and 135 mm of travel. There is a rear adjustable 110 mm monoshock acompanied by 300 mm and 230 mm discs at both front and back. The company also provides bungee straps positioned underneath the seat which will ensure more safety for long-distance riding. There is a full LED headlamp along with AHO (auto headlamp on), a secondary fuel tank display setup and the twin-barrel exhaust setup.
Bajaj Dominar 250 Expert Review
Pros
- Power-cruiser design
- Nice Engine performance
- Decent features
Cons
- Brakes lack bite
- Weight
- Sedate Performance
In the end, what the Bajaj Dominar 250 offers is a versatile machine, which can effortlessly do the daily commute, and be equally at home handling the occasional highway run; all great qualities that make it a calm and composed 250 cc motorcycle. Although, with its 180 kg kerb weight, the Dominar 250 makes its mass felt, especially if you go seeking some thrills. It may be the near-perfect, do-it-all motorcycle, as long as you're ready to accept what it's not, and appreciate it for what it is.Brakes lack bite
How is the design of Bajaj Dominar 250?
The design of the Bajaj Dominar 400 is undoubtedly unique and the same touches extend to the Bajaj Dominar 250 as well. Bajaj gives this a power cruiser look with the blacked-out zones and accompanying glossy paintwork. The new Dominar 250 gets full LED lighting, a big 13 litre fuel tank, rear cowl and stylish body panels. The wheels also sport a similar design without the diamond-cut finish of the spokes on the Dominar 400. Overall, the Bajaj Dominar 250 looks good enough to turn heads on the road.
The Bajaj Dominar 250 rides well, being easy to handle in congested city traffic while also competently cruising at 110-110 kmph while on the highway. The engine has a good low-speed tractability quotient. You may ride in higher gears at city speeds without the engine getting stressed and a simple throttle purr will get it moving rapidly enough. The light clutch is a big plus point along with the smoothly shifting gearbox. In spite of being hefty, the Dominar 250 does not feel burdened even at higher speeds. The tall 5th and 6th gears mean that the engine keeps nicely cruising in the 6000-7000 rpm bracket. The only thing to note is that downshifting is necessary for swiftly overtaking at higher speeds owing to the tall gearing.
The Bajaj Dominar 250 is comfortable enough for long distance riding. It gets the beam type perimeter frame with 37 mm front USDs and 135 mm of travel while there is the 110 mm travel rear monoshock. There are 300 and 230 mm front and rear discs respectively. Automatic headlamp on (AHO) is a prominent feature along with full-LED lighting, secondary fuel tank display and the twin-barrel exhaust. Long-distance riding is comfortable and safe, more so because of the bungee straps under the seat. The only niggle is that the fuel tank display does not show basic data like distance to empty, gear position indicator and average fuel consumption.
The Bajaj Dominar 250 comes with several features including AHO (automatic headlamp on) for its full-LED headlight, secondary fuel tank display, a twin-barrel exhaust, dual-channel ABS, engine kill switch, gear indicator, low oil indicator, low battery indicator, fuel warning indicator, pass light and fuel gauge.
The Bajaj Dominar 250 offers 35 Kmpl of fuel economy.
The Bajaj Dominar 250 performs smoothly with its single-cylinder 248.8 cc BS-VI engine that is based upon the KTM 250 Duke. It makes 26.60 bhp and 23.5 Nm of maximum torque at 8500 rpm and 6500 rpm respectively. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and gets a slipper clutch as well. The bike can touch 100 kmph in only 10.5 seconds prior to hitting its top speed which is 132 kmph.
Overall, the Bajaj Dominar 250 does represent a value proposition, with its stand-out design, decent features, good suspension, safety features and decent mileage. It does lack a few technological additions although the overall riding experience is sporty on the highway and refined in the city.

PERFECT PERFORMANCE
By Hasan @ Nov 14, 2024 03:20 PM
4.0
I’ve had the Bajaj Dominar 250 for a few months now, and I’ve got to say, it’s been a fantastic experience. This bike packs a solid punch for a 250cc machine—plenty of power to cruise comfortably on highways, and it’s no slouch in the city either. The engine is refined, with a smooth power delivery that makes it easy to ride for long stretches without fatigue. I appreciate the muscular design—it gives off a big-bike vibe that turns heads. The suspension setup is great for handling rough patches; it soaks up potholes better than I expected, and the bike feels planted even at higher speeds. The all-LED lighting and digital console add a nice modern touch, making it feel more premium than its price tag suggests. For me, the Dominar 250 strikes a great balance between performance and daily usability

Great bike for those looking for a balance of touring capability
By Maninder @ Nov 15, 2024 11:26 AM
3.0
The Bajaj Dominar 250 has been a solid companion for my rides, but it’s not without a few quirks. Let’s start with the positives—it’s got a strong 250cc engine that’s smooth and pulls well, making it great for highway rides. I’ve taken it on a few trips, and it holds its own at higher speeds. That said, in city traffic, it feels a tad heavy when weaving through tight spots. The weight gives it great stability on open roads, but in congested areas, it’s something you notice. The styling is definitely bold and attention-grabbing, but I think Bajaj could work a bit on reducing vibrations at higher RPMs. The digital console is nice, though it feels slightly dated compared to what some competitors offer. Overall, the Dominar 250 is a great bike for those looking for a balance of touring capability and daily riding, as long as you’re okay with a bit of heft and minor vibrations on spirited runs

Feels heavy in city traffic
By Mahesh Lal @ Sep 28, 2024 01:42 AM
3.0
The Bajaj Dominar 250 offers great performance and is perfect for long rides and highway cruising. The engine is smooth and powerful, and the bike handles well at high speeds. However, the bike feels heavy in city traffic, and the fuel efficiency could be better. The build quality is solid, but the maintenance cost is slightly on the higher side. A great bike for touring, but less practical for daily commutes.
