Ducati has ended the year with record sales, growing globally by 24 per cent over 2020, and 12 per cent over 2019, with 59,447 motorcycles sold worldwide.

Volkswagen said that demand across market has been high and its order backlog in Europe is at an all-time high with 5,43,000 units still to be delivered, including 95,000 orders for all-electric IDs.

Riding the back of these new models, Volkswagen India is expecting to capture a market share of 2 per cent by the end of 2022.

Maruti Suzuki models contribute over 83 per cent of the total volumes of top 10 selling models while the remaining two spots have been taken by Hyundai India and Tata Motors.

Volvo says that the growth was led by the company's luxury SUV portfolio with the company's mid-sized SUV- the XC60 being the bestselling model followed by the compact SUV XC40.

BMW AG has beaten its German counterpart for the first time in six years and Mercedes-Benz had been the highest selling luxury carmaker since 2015.
