Ex-F1 team owner Ross Brawn has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Formula One, while current boss Bernie Ecclestone has been moved to a new position - Chairman Emeritus. Meanwhile, Chase Carey has been appointed as the new CEO of F1. The shuffle in the sport's management comes after US-based Liberty Media took over the sport from CVC last year and has brought a new management in place.

Road racing legend Guy Martin dropped a bomb when he announced his comeback in the 2017 Isle of Man TT and that too with the Honda Racing Team, who already have John McGuiness on board. McGuiness has won the Isle of Man TT a record 23 times and is considered to be one of the greatest ever to have raced at the Isle of Man. Both these greats will be piloting the all-new Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP2.

Valtteri Bottas will be joining Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team alongside Lewis Hamilton for the 2017 season. A much-anticipated move, Bottas will be filling in the shoes of 2016 F1 World Champion Nico Rosberg, who announced his retirement soon after the finale at Abu Dhabi last year.

Tackling some of the harshest terrains of South America, the Sherco TVS Racing team completed its third edition of Dakar Rally 2017 with riders Joan Pedrero and Adrien Metge making it to the final finish ramp in Argentina. At the end of Stage 12, Pedrero completed the rally in 13th place while Metge finished in 22nd place in the overall general classification.

The Dakar Rally 2017 saw Hero MotoSports Team Rally riders Joaquim Rodrigues, who also made his Dakar debut this year, finish 10th while India's very own CS Santosh finished 47th in his third Dakar outing.

Mumbai-based Jehan Daruvala grabbed the first two pole positions in the Toyota Racing Series Cars in Christchurch, New Zealand. The Sahara Force India Academy racer also managed to break the circuit record in the series, kickstarting the new year with a bang.

After a two-day break, it was just the right time for the Indian contingent Hero MotoSports Team Rally and Sherco TVS to build pace with the two-day marathon in Stage 7 and 8. The riders Joan Pedrero, Adrien Metge, Joaquim Rodrigues and CS Santosh showed splendid progress over two days

Triumph has finalised a deal to supply engines to the Moto2 class when the current deal with Honda ends in 2018, latest reports indicate. According to Bike Sport News, the deal has now been signed with Dorna and Triumph is set to become the new official engine supplier for Moto2 from 2019.
