On the occasion of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Ferrari is launching a unique 'Piloti Ferrari' specification for the Ferrari 488 Pista. This special custom creation, the latest from the exclusive Tailor Made programme, was designed to recognise the success of clients who race Ferraris and will make its debut on the eve of the legendary Le Mans.

It will be a front row lockout for Toyota at the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans tomorrow. The No. 8 Toyota with drivers Kazuki Nakajima, Sebastien Buemi and Fernando Alonso behind the wheel, will start the race from the pole position on Saturday. Nakajima put up a brilliant initial qualifying time of 3m17.270s during the Wednesday's first session but managed to improve on the same by a brilliant two seconds with his first flying lap in the final part of qualifying on Thursday. This will be Toyota's fourth pole at Le Mans, and the first for Nakajima, Buemi and Alonso.

To help it get there quickly, the I.D. R Pikes Peak, features two electric engines and a system performance of 671 bhp and there are two interlinked and integrated lithium-ion battery packs positioned to the left and right of the cockpit.

The chequered flag blunder at the end of the 2018 Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix last weekend, may have been a crisis averted, but did raise several questions of safety concerns during the race. The incident has been embarrassing for the F1 officials and the team is now devising a new method to make it seamless. In a recent statement, Formula 1 race director Charlie Whiting has suggested that an automated chequered flag system could be introduced in the future.

Following Andrea Iannone announcing his exit from the Suzuki Ecstar MotoGP team, the Hamamatsu factory works has announced Moto2 racer Joan Mir will be joining the team for the 2019 and 2020 MotoGP seasons. All of 20, Joan Mir is a Moto3 champion and has secured a premier class seat alongside Alex Rins, who was officially retained until the end of 2020 in May this year.

The 2018 Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix saw Sebastian Vettel retake the lead in the championship with a win; but barring the Hartley-Stroll crash, it was a fairly predictable race. However, the one blunder that has got everyone talking about the Canadian GP was its earlier than expected finish, quite literally. The chequered flag was out a lap earlier than scheduled, ending the race in 69 laps instead of 70.
