Just days after Fernando Alonso announced his retirement from F1, McLaren has confirmed that Carlos Sainz will be stepping into the former world champion's shoes as his replacement. Sainz joins McLaren on a multi-year deal stepping away from its current team Red Bull Racing. Red Bull though has loaned Sainz to Renault this season. That said, Renault has already announced about bringing Daniel Ricciardo onboard from Red Bull next year, who will be stepping in as a replacement for Sainz at the French outfit and will race alongside Nico Hulkenberg next year.

Two time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso has announced his retirement from the championship and the McLaren driver will not be taking part in the 2019 season. Announcing his decision, the F1 driver took to Twitter to announce his decision, through the F1's summer break. Alonso is currently racing with the McLaren F1 Team and will continue until the end of this season.

Agra-based karting racer Shahan Ali Mohsin will become the first Indian to represent the country in the IAME International Karting final at Le Mans, France. The 14-year-old has been competing in a number of karting events in India and globally and was recently crowned the 2018 India Karting Champion in the 2018 MSports X30 Challenge, Junior category. Shahan not only won the championship in the junior category but also the seat at IAME International Karting series that will see the young driver compete against 120 participants from across the globe.

The factory-backed Idemitsu Honda Racing India Team by T. Ten10 Racing made a fantastic start in Round 4 of the 2018 Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC). The current round of the ARRC is being held at the Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT), and the team managed to secure a podium finish in its home ground for the first time. Honda's solo entry in the premier SuperSport 600 (SS600) class, Taiga Hada finished third taking the team's first-ever podium finish. This is Idemitsu Honda team's first year in ARRC.

Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso will be starting the 2018 MotoGP Czech Grand Prix on pole tomorrow, ahead of Yamaha's Valentino Rossi and Honda rider Marc Marquez who will start in the front row. The Ducati rider managed to secure his first pole since the Malaysian GP in 2016 and managed to beat Rossi's time by 0.267s with a flying lap of 1m54.689s at Brno. Dovizioso was riding the latest-spec aero fairing on his Ducati and pushed from eighth to top spot beating Marquez.
