Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India achieved record sales for a single month, selling over 5.7 lakh motorcycles and scooters in April 2017. Honda scooters made up for over 3.5 lakh unit sales.

Royal Enfield sales for a single month crossed 60,000 bikes, with the company selling 60,142 motorcycles in April 2017. Sales are led largely by the Royal Enfield 350 models. Sales of Royal Enfield bikes above 350 cc however, declined in April 2017

With the launch of the 2017 Honda Active i and Aviator Honda has now achieved BS-IV compliance for its entire scooter line-up. The Honda Activa i is priced at Rs. 47,913 (ex-showroom Delhi), while the Aviator is priced in the range of Rs. 52,077 to Rs. 56,454 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has stopped sales of the Honda CBR150R and the Honda CBR250R motorcycles. The two models have already been taken off the company's website and are no longer available on sale, although they haven't been discontinued. HMSI officials said that the two motorcycles are yet to be upgraded to meet the Bharat Stage IV (BS IV) emission norms which came into effect from April 1, 2017.

TVS Motor Company has been involved in the development of an all-new scooter, which is going to be launched in the second half of 2017. Although company officials are tight-lipped about this new model, it is expected to be a completely new scooter with a 125 cc engine. The new motorcycle to be launched is the TVS Apache RTR 310, which will be launched sometime in July 2017.

Honda Two Wheelers has rolled out the 15 millionth Activa off the assembly line at its Vithlapur plant in Gujarat. The Activa is the first ever two-wheeler in India to reach the mark.

Okinawa Scooters is the latest domestic manufacturer in the e-mobility space and has introduced its new 'Ridge' e-scooter. The model was first introduced in January this year and has been made available in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh priced at Rs. 42,000 (ex-showroom).

The new Benelli showroom in Pune is the third in the city and 25th across India. Motowheels, which sells Benelli bikes under the Benelli brand in India, plans to increase its showroom footprint to 40 across the country by the end of 2017.
