Domestic two-wheeler sales of Bajaj Auto declined by 23 per cent, while exports remain flat, compared to sales in November 2020.

Last month total new vehicle registrations stood at 13,64,526 units, a 5.33 per cent decline compared to October 2020. However, the dealers also saw the worst festive season in last decade with retail sales falling 18 per cent during the 42-day festive period.

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has released the monthly sales numbers for October 2021. Last month the total passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market stood at 2,26,353 units, a year-on-year decline of 27 per cent compared to the 3,10,694 vehicles sold in October 2020.

Indian ride-hailing company Ola, backed by Japan's Softbank Group, has notched up its first-ever operating profit since beginning operations a decade ago. Ola reported standalone operating profit or EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) of Rs.89.82 crore ($12 million) for the fiscal year that ended in March 2021, versus a loss of over Rs. 607 crore ($81.55 million).

Ashok Leyland's total sales stood at 11,079 vehicles for October 2021, which is a good 11 per cent Year-on-Year (Y-o-Y) growth as compared to the 9,989 units sold in October 2020.
