Tata Motors Records 94 Per Cent Jump In PV Deliveries This Dhanteras

Festive season sales this year have been muted so far. Sales during the Navaratri period were not as strong as the industry had witnessed in previous years, but for Tata Motors, things have remained on the fast track and even robust growth is expected here on. We saw majority of the of the automakers reporting decline in sales in the previous month, but Tata Motors was one of the very few carmakers that reported growth. It has now confirmed recording almost double growth in deliveries this Dhanteras as well. The company said in a statement that it registered a robust jump of 94 per cent this Dhanteras which is a huge growth than what was expected.

The Tata Punch has been quite in the demand.

Shailesh Chandra, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit (PVBU), Tata Motors said, "On the auspicious day of Dhanteras, our deliveries nearly doubled as compared to last year, owing to strong demand for our New Forever range, including the newly launched Punch and the EVs. Across India, our deliveries grew by 94 per cent."

Now in October 2021, the carmaker's total domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 33,925 units, which is a year-on-year growth of 44 per cent compared to 23,617 units sold during the same month in 2020. At the same time, compared to 25,730 vehicles sold in September 2021, the company witnessed a month-on-month growth of 32 per cent. Tata's total domestic PV sales include 32,339 Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles and 1,586 electric vehicles (EVs).

The Tata Safari too has been a strong volume garner.

Now even for the entire auto sector, demand hasn't been an issue. In fact, the decline is because the semiconductor shortage that's been a major disruption in the global auto market as well. Growth for Tata Motors is also due to a low base last year while new models like the Tata Punch and Safari have been quite in demand. The company has manage to keep up with its supplies, despite the chip shortage issue.
