Harley-Davidson India is the undisputed leader in superbike sales in the financial year 2016-17. The Street 750, the least expensive Harley, sold 2,114 bikes in the period, accounting for over 24 per cent of total superbike sales. The Harley-Davidson Iron 883 also makes it to the top 5 bestselling superbikes list

Skoda Auto recently rolled out the 1.5 millionth unit of the 3rd generation Octavia from its plat at Mlada Boleslav in the Czech Republic. Overall, Skoda has sold 5 million units of the Octavia since the Octavia line began in 1996. Skoda sold 1.4 million units of the first generation Octavia. The second generation Octavia was sold between 2004 and 2013 and racked up sales of 2.5 million units.

Honda sold over 5.7 lakh two-wheelers in April 2017, the company's best-ever sales numbers for a single month, and just short of Hero MotoCorp's sales of 5.9 lakh two-wheelers for April. For the first time, Royal Enfield sold over 60,000 bikes in a single month, led by sales of Royal Enfield's 350 cc motorcycles

Four of the top 5 bikes sold in the financial year 2016-17 are from Hero MotoCorp. Honda's best-selling 125 cc motorcycle, the Honda CB Shine, occupies fourth place in the list of best-selling bikes

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India achieved record sales for a single month, selling over 5.7 lakh motorcycles and scooters in April 2017. Honda scooters made up for over 3.5 lakh unit sales.

Royal Enfield sales for a single month crossed 60,000 bikes, with the company selling 60,142 motorcycles in April 2017. Sales are led largely by the Royal Enfield 350 models. Sales of Royal Enfield bikes above 350 cc however, declined in April 2017

The overall sales numbers of Piaggio arent significant, considering the massive volumes of scooters sold in India. What is pertinent is that no other scooter manufacturer has any models in the 150 cc space, and this is where Piaggio has grown a whopping 460 per cent in just one year

In March 2017 alone, Yamaha grew by 27 per cent, selling 76,144 units. In the entire financial year (April 2016-March 2017), Yamaha sold over 7.8 lakh two-wheelers, with scooter sales accounting for 56 per cent of those numbers
