Hosur-based TVS Motor Company announced its revenue growth for the second quarter of the 2017-18 financial year. The two-wheeler manufacturer reported a revenue growth of 18.2 per cent for Q2 of FY2018 that ended on September 2017. The revenue excluding excise duty/GST grew to Rs. 4098 crore during the same period, up from Rs. 3465.7 crore that was registered in the Q2 of FY2017.

Domestic wholesales in October stood at 4218 vehicles, as against 7,508 units a year ago, while exports were at 10,815 vehicles compared to 14,535 units last year.

The domestic Passenger and Commercial Vehicle Business, recorded a growth of per centat 48,886 units, in October 2017, compared to October 2016, last year.

Thanks to Diwali, in October 2017 automakers saw a considerable growth in car sales. Maruti Suzuki India registered a total growth of 9.2 per cent in October 2017, while Toyota Kirloskar Motors saw a growth of 6 per cent.

Indian auto major Maruti Suzuki reported financial results for the second quarter of this fiscal (2017-18). The automaker registered a 3.4 per cent hike in its net profit at Rs. 2484.3 crore in the second quarter of the financial year.

Fiat India has announced that it has commenced exporting right-hand drive (RHD) units of the Jeep Compass overseas. The first batch comprising 600 units have been shipped to Australia and Japan from the Bombay Port Trust facility, with 65 per cent of local content going into the SUV.
