Honda Cars India has commenced series production of the soon-to-be-launched new-gen Honda City at its Greater Noida plant, in Uttar-Pradesh. While the car was supposed to be launched in April 2020, the coronavirus pandemic and the resultant lockdown forced the company to suspend operations and postpone the launch.

The Golden Thunder will be available as edition models from September 2020 onwards on all three body variants of the 8 Series, the Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe.

After launching the new GLS flagship SUV, Mercedes-Benz India is now eyeing to launch its first electric car - EQC EV in the country. The Stuttgart-based carmaker is expected to launch the EV in the next couple of weeks. Initially revealed in Sweden in 2018, the highly awaited Mercedes-Benz EQC was expected to be launched in India towards the end of the last year. But, the EV was not launched in India last year. Later, the company announced its plans to launch the same by April this year, which also got delayed due to coronavirus pandemic. Volkswagen Nivus Coupe SUV made its global premiere last month. Now, the carmaker is all set to launch the Tiguan's little coupe sibling in the Brazilian market on June 25, 2020. The company has already commenced the production of the Nivus Coupe SUV at its Anchieta plant in Sao Bernardo do Campo which is a part of Volkswagen's first 100 per cent digital project. The launch is scheduled to commence at 4 pm CEST, which is around 11 am in Brazil. The launch event is expected to be an all-digital event due to the coronavirus outbreak in Brazil.
