Formula 2 title contender George Russell has received the big promotion and will be joining the Formula 1 grid in 2019. The British racer has been signed by Williams for the 2019 season in a multi-year deal and is the first of the two new drivers to be announced by the team for next season. The second driver at Williams is yet to be announced by the team. Russell is a Mercedes protege part of the Silver Arrows' young driver programme and is currently leading the F2 championship, and is said to have been considered over Force India's Esteban Ocon for the seat at Williams.

The race spec Vento also gets the usual bits like the rollcage, the race seats and harness, the KW suspension with Eibach springs and the fire extinguisher. It also gets a set of forged wheels that have been made specifically for this car by Wheels India Limited in India and weight only about 6.5 kg each! The race spec Vento does not get the same wing as the Ameo does but owners can opt for one. The car also gets massive front brakes from a Golf R32 along with rear discs from an Octavia RS comnbined with a set of race ready brake pads.

Honda's Marc Marquez took a nail-biting win in the inaugural Thailand Grand Prix at the Buriram circuit. The 2018 MotoGP championship contender managed to pass rival Andrea Dovizioso of Ducati on the final lap to take the win. The two riders were separated by just 0.115s as Marquez heads closer to the championship title for the seventh time. Finishing third was Yamaha's Maverick Vinales with the new aero fairing after a spell of poor performances in previous races. This was also Marquez's seventh win of the 2018 MotoGP season, and the Spaniard leads with 77 points, with only 100 points left to play for in the final four races.

Lewis Hamilton took a step closer to the 2018 Formula 1 championship title, winning the Japanese Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver won the race amidst high octane action, which included a clash between Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen of Red Bull. With a 67 point deficit over Hamilton, Vettel's home of taking winning the championship this year seem to be diminishing faster with about 100 points left for grabs. Joining Hamilton on the podium was teammate Valtteri Bottas followed by Verstappen in third place. Vettel finished a distant sixth in the race.

The grand finale of the 2018 Volkswagen Ameo Cup is being held today at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) and it is Pratik Sonawane who will be starting on pole position in Race 1 of the championship. The fourth and final round will see two races take place that will help decide the winner for the second edition of the championship. This is for the first time the Ameo Cup makes its way to the BIC since the very first rounds of testing, and drivers were given a full day to familiarise themselves with the track.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), Honda's wholly-owned Indian subsidiary, is organising a nationwide talent hunt to select 10 riders and impart them training in racing to become future Indian icons in global racing.

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton took a flawless win in the 2018 Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix, extending his lead for the championship title. The Briton started second on the grid and managed won the race ahead of teammate Valtteri Bottas by a margin of 2.545s. Hamilton's victory though comes amidst Mercedes' team orders asking Bottas to move aside. The latter started on pole and was running for the race lead behind Red Bull's Max Verstappen when the Bottas was asked to let Hamilton as the Briton had Sebastian Vettel on his tail.

Nicknamed "the Torpedo", Daniil Kvyat will be making a comeback to Torro Rosso in 2019 and steps in for Pierre Gasly who has been promoted to Red Bull Racing.
