Suzuki Motorcycle India will be bringing the highly awaited Gixxer 250 on May 20, 2019. The two-wheeler manufacturer has kept details on the upcoming quarter-litre offering under wraps and little has been known on the motorcycle barring the teaser images. Now, ahead of the launch, details about the Suzuki Gixxer 250 have been leaked online including the design and technical specifications. The new motorcycle is indeed a full-faired motorcycle and will be badged as the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 upon launch.  The motorcycle will take on the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, Yamaha Fazer 25, and the Honda CBR 250R.

Royal Enfield has an aggressive strategy in place to expand in the middleweight motorcycle segment (250-750 cc) globally. While the RE 650 Twins are already here, there will be newer motorcycles in tow and needless to say, the bikes will harp back to the company's illustrious history. The Chennai-based bike maker does seem to be looking into something similar for its next launch and has trademarked the 'Meteor' nameplate in Europe, hinting at resurrecting the moniker for a future offering. RE's parent company Eicher Motors has applied for European trademark rights to the name 'Royal Enfield Meteor' and has asked permissions for the title to be used on 'motorcycles and parts and fittings therefore' as well as on clothing.

TVS Motor Company has introduced two new colours for the Radeon 110 cc commuter motorcycle. The TVS Radeon is now available in Titanium Grey and Volcano Red shades and is now priced at Rs. 50,070 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Compared to the launch of Rs. 48,400, the updated Radeon is about Rs. 1200 more expensive. The new colours are available in addition to Metal Black, Pearl White, Royal Purple and Golden Beige shades that have been on offer since the launch in August last year. Barring the new colour options, the TVS commuter does not get any changes to the mechanicals.

The all-new cruiser is the now the most affordable Avenger on sale and replaces the Avenger Street 150 that was previously on offer. The new Avenger Street 160 will bring a sporty cruiser experience to the large set of emerging 150-160 cc users who seek the cruiser styling without the over indulgence in chrome. Chennai-based motorcycle maker Royal Enfield has announced a recall for 7000 units of the Bullet range of motorcycles. The recall affects the Royal Enfield Bullet and Electra 350 and 500 variants that were manufactured between March 20 and April 30 this year. The recall is related to an issue of a faulty brake caliper bolt that failed to meet the required torque quality to standards, according to Royal Enfield and the recall is a proactive measure given the importance of the part concerned.

Scooters continue to remain top sellers for Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) bringing in the chunk of volumes. While it is the Activa leading the sales charts always, the Dio isn't too bad either on the sales front. In fact, the Honda Dio 110 cc scooter has crossed the 30 lakh sales milestone, adding a new feather to its hat. Honda says the first 15 lakh sales took 14 years to achieve, but the latest 15 lakh sales were registered in just three years. That's five times faster than the earlier pace, which has helped the Dio grow into India's fourth largest selling scooter. The milestone also comes at a time when the domestic auto industry is undergoing a lull phase over the past few months.

It wasn't until recently that we realised we needed a behemoth motorcycle in our garage. But it wasn't until recently either that Triumph Motorcycles pulled the veil off the new Rocket III TFC. Brought to life by the 'Triumph Factory Custom' special works division at Hinckley, the Triumph Rocket 3 TFC is as wild as the British get and features the world's largest engine on a production motorcycle. The new Rocket 3 TFC will have a limited production run of 750 units, of which 225 units of these big bad cruisers will make their way to the US, while the rest will make their way to other parts of the world. There's no word yet on how many models will be coming to India.
