Two-Wheeler Sales August 2021: TVS Sells Over 2.9 Lakh Units, Sales Stay Flat

- TVS sold a total of 290,694 units in August 2021
- Total two-wheeler sales for August 2021 stood at 274,313 units
- 179,999 two-wheeler units sold domestically
Total sales for TVS Motor Company stayed flat in August 2021 with 290,694 units despatched. In comparison, TVS sold 287,398 units in August 2020. Total two-wheeler sales for August 2021 stood at 274,313 units with 179,999 units sold domestically. In comparison, TVS sold a total of 277,229 units in August 2020, with 218,338 units sold domestically. TVS expects sales to pick up as pandemic restrictions ease and the festive season approaches. TVS reported sales of 133,789 motorcycle units in August 2021, compared to 119,878 units in August 2020.

Similarly, the company reported sales of 87,059 scooter units last month while the scooter sales in August 2020 stood at 87,044 units. TVS said that the production and sales of premium two-wheelers were severely affected due to the shortage of semiconductors. TVS' total exports registered a growth of 61 per cent with sales of 109,927 units in the month of August 2021 as against 68,347 units in August 2020. Two-wheeler exports registered a growth of 60 per cent with sales of 94,314 units in August 2021 as against sales of 58,888 units in August 2020. The demand in the export market continues to be robust, and container availability is improving. TVS says it is optimistic that the container situation further improvement in container availability in the coming months.

Three-wheeler of the Company registered a growth of 61 per cent with sales of 16,381 units in August 2021 as against sales of 10,172 units in August 2020.
