The Tata Sierra, an iconic SUV from Tata Motors, is set to make a significant comeback in 2025 with both electric (EV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) variants. The production-ready models are expected to debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, scheduled from January 17 to 22, 2025, in New Delhi.

Design and Features

The new Sierra pays homage to its original design while incorporating modern elements. It features a closed front grille, slim LED DRLs, and a sleek connected light bar at the rear, complemented by a protruding spoiler. The large rear window, reminiscent of the original model, has been reimagined to suit contemporary aesthetics.

Inside, the Sierra is expected to offer a premium experience with features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, and a dual infotainment setup. A Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite is also anticipated, enhancing safety and convenience.

Powertrain Options

The Sierra will be available in both EV and ICE variants:

• Electric Variant: Built on Tata's Acti.EV platform, the Sierra EV is expected to offer a range of approximately 500 km on a single charge. It may feature single and dual-motor configurations, with options for all-wheel-drive (AWD) and rear-wheel-drive (RWD).

• Internal Combustion Engine Variant: The ICE version is likely to be equipped with a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, producing around 170 PS and 280 Nm of torque. A 2.0-litre diesel engine, similar to those in the Harrier and Safari SUVs, may also be offered.

Launch Timeline

Tata Motors has confirmed that the Sierra EV will launch first, followed by the ICE version. Both models are expected to be available in the second half of 2025.
