TVS Apache RTR 310

The TVS Apache RTR 310 boasts an aggressive, streetfighter design that immediately grabs attention. The 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quickshifter provides smooth gear transitions, allowing for rapid shifts without using the clutch. However, the engine does suffer from some vibration issues, especially between 80-90 km/h and 6500-7500 rpm, which can detract from the overall riding experience.

The dual-disc braking system with dual-channel ABS ensures strong and predictable stopping power. While the brakes offer steady progression, they could benefit from a sharper bite for more immediate response.

The only issue reported during real-world testing was with the throttle response, which at times felt inconsistent. This slight lag can occasionally disrupt the otherwise smooth riding experience, though it doesn’t significantly affect everyday performance

The TVS Apache RTR 310 strikes a good balance between sportiness and comfort. The upright riding position with wide handlebars ensures that the rider isn’t too hunched over, making the bike suitable for both commuting and long-distance rides. The 800 mm seat height is accessible to most riders, though the seat itself is quite compact, limiting movement during longer rides, especially for heavier riders.

The bike’s relatively light 168 kg kerb weight adds to its maneuverability, making it easy to handle in city traffic. The adjustable front and rear suspension also ensure that the ride quality can be tailored to different conditions, adding a layer of versatility to the overall experience.

The bike comes with five riding modes—Urban, Rain, Sport, SuperMoto, and Track—each of which alters the engine’s power delivery and electronic interventions to suit different conditions.

In addition, the bike is equipped with TVS’s SmartXConnect system, offering Bluetooth connectivity that allows riders to access navigation, call alerts, and more through the TFT display. The top-spec models come with options for a Dynamic Kit and Dynamic Pro Kit, which add fully adjustable suspension, a climate-control seat, and other premium features like cornering ABS, traction control, and wheelie control. While these kits enhance the bike’s performance, they are optional and come at an additional cost.

Given its sporty nature, the TVS Apache RTR 310 offers a reasonable fuel efficiency for a 300 cc bike. Riders can expect a mileage of around 28-32 kmpl, depending on riding conditions and the selected mode. The 15-liter fuel tank provides a range of approximately 400 kilometers, making it suitable for long-distance touring as well as daily commutes.

With a starting price of ₹2.43 lakh, the TVS Apache RTR 310 is priced competitively in its segment, particularly when considering its feature set and performance. 

The bike offers great value for riders seeking a feature-packed naked streetfighter with a balance of style, performance, and technology. However, adding the Dynamic and Dynamic Pro kits pushes the price up to ₹3.14 lakh, placing it in competition with the KTM 390 Duke, which offers slightly more power but fewer features.
