The Hyundai Creta became the bestselling car in the country, and it was the first time that a Maruti Suzuki car had been dethroned. However, come May, Maruti Suzuki came back strongly with sales of the Alto and captured the top spot.

The coronavirus pandemic has seen unlikely chart toppers in the month of June. The Alto is back to winning ways followed closely by the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos

Bajaj Auto has officially come out with its monthly sales numbers for June 2020. Last month, the Pune-based automaker's total sales stood at 2,78,097 units, as against the 1,27,128 units the company sold in May 2020, witnessing a Month-on-Month (M-o-M) growth of 119 per cent. However, as compared to the 4,04,624 units sold in June 2019, the company registered a Year-on-Year (Y-o-Y) decline of 31 per cent.

Honda Cars India sold 1398 units in June 2020 as compared to 10,314 units which were sold in the same month last year.

Royal Enfield India has released its monthly sales numbers for June 2020, during which the company's total sales stood at 38,065 units. Compared to the 19,113 motorcycles sold in May 2020, the company saw a Month-on-Month (M-o-M) growth of almost 50 per cent, however, against the 58,339 units sold in June 2019, Royal Enfield's Year-on-Year (Y-o-Y) sales fell by 35 per cent.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced its total sales (domestic+export) for June 2020 with 210,879 units despatched. The company witnessed a year-on-year decline of 55 per cent, as compared to 476,364 units sold in June 2019. However, the manufacturer managed to see a sharp increase in month-on-month sales when compared to the 54,820 units that were despatched in May 2020. With over 95 per cent of Honda's network resuming operations since the first week of June, the company's retail sales have crossed the three lakh mark, a growth of 156 per cent, when compared to the 1.15 lakh units, sold that were in May this year.

TVS Motor Company total sales (domestic+exports) stood at 198,387 units for June 2020. The manufacturer reported a decline of 33.22 per cent last month, as compared to 297,102 units that were sold during the same period in 2019. While year-on-year sales have been low, the company did witness a three-fold increase in despatches in June, as compared to nearly 59,000 units that were rolled out of its facilities in May this year. With the lockdown being relaxed in a phased manner, the manufacturer has seen an uptick in both domestic retail as well as exports, TVS said in a statement. The Apache maker also said that it faced supply chain constraints in June, but the company undertook several countermeasures and expects to overcome these problems this month.

Tata Motors total domestic sales including PV and CV sales went down by 82 per cent in first quarter of FY2021 at 23,845 units as compared to 1,31,879 units sold in the same period last year.
