Delhi Govt Withdraws Order Of 18-Fold Hike In Parking Charges
The Delhi government withdrew on Monday, 24 December, its order of an 18-fold hike in one-time parking charges for cars and annual fees for commercial vehicles from 1 January. The Delhi Transport Department had, on Friday, approved a recommendation for the hike by three municipal corporations of the city. Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot, on Monday, directed withdrawal of his department's previous order due to "irregularities" in it.
Hyundai Sees Russia Auto Market Growth Slowing In 2019

South Korea-based carmaker Hyundai Motor Co. expects growth in the Russian auto market to slow sharply next year, the head of its Russian branch said on Monday. Automakers have warned that Russia's plan to raise the value-added tax in 2019 would hit car sales, which have only just started to recover from four years of stagnation. Hyundai forecasts car sales in Russia will grow 5-6 percent in 2019, after an expected increase of 12.8 percent this year, the company's Russian managing director Alexei Kalitsev told reporters.
Mahindra Dealers Start Taking Bookings For The XUV300

Few Mahindra dealers in some of the metropolitan cities have started accepting bookings for the upcoming XUV300 subcompact SUV. carandbike has reached out to some of the Mahindra dealers in Mumbai and Delhi-NCR region who have admitted accepting bookings for the XUV500 and have promised to prioritize deliveries of the same. However, the company has denied the news saying that they have not started with the bookings yet and dealers are only addressing prospective customers who are coming to showrooms with queries.
M&M Becomes India's First Authorized Vehicles' Recycler

Mahindra in association with Metal Scrap Trade Corporation Limited (MSTC) is exploring a new business opportunity in India which is in line with Government's upcoming Vehicle Scrap Policy which aims at scrapping end of life vehicles (15 years or more old vehicles). Mahindra Accelo (a completely owned subsidiary of Mahindra) has formed a joint venture with MSTC to pioneer in the Vehicle recycling business under a new brand- CERO (Mahindra MSTC Recycling PVT. LTD.). The CERO brand had received accreditation by the Delhi Government on December 21, 2018 and is India's first authorized recycler of vehicles.
Reduction In Fuel Prices A Positive Sign For Indian Auto Sales

Passenger Vehicle sales in India has witnessed negative growth in some of the past months and the increase in fuel prices was one of the major reasons behind it. Now that prices have neutralized to quite an extent in last few days, the sales are again expected to be back on the growth track. Petrol and diesel prices have been reduced on Sunday by Rs. 20 paise and Rs. 18 paise respectively. The per litre price of petrol in Delhi was reduced to Rs. 70.17 per litre from Rs. 70.37 per litre and the price of diesel was reduced to Rs. 64.10 per litre from Rs. 64.28 per litre. Along with Delhi, prices were also reduced in other metro cities like Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.

The Mahindra XUV300 is the name of the automaker's all-new subcompact SUV and while images and the production name were revealed a few days ago, the car is yet to make its public debut. Now, ahead of its launch early next year, the Mahindra XUV300 has been spotted in the open at what seems to be an ad shoot. The new images give a better understanding of what to expect from the upcoming sub 4-metre SUV. Mercedes-Benz V-Class India Launch Details Revealed

Mercedes-Benz is all set to start the New Year with making a comeback into the segment which was long left. The Stuttgart based carmaker is all set to launch the V-Class in India on January 24, 2019 which will mark its return into the MPV segment. The Mercedes-Benz V-Class will be launched in India as a Completely Built Unit and will be imported from Spain. The company has not confirmed local assembly for it yet which would have neutralized the price to some extent. The local assembly would have helped to make the MPV more viable in the segment which otherwise is dominated by SUVs.
