The countdown has begun for the latest season of MotoGP and Ducati turned out to be the first team on the grid to reveal their 2018 project. The Team Presentation for the new season took place in Borgo Panigale outside Bologna, Italy where the new Ducati Desmosedici GP18 race bikes were revealed. While the spec upgrades are still under wraps, Ducati has revealed the updated paint scheme on the motorcycles while also confirming that the bikes will be making a lot more power.

One of the greatest Formula 1 drivers and motorsport legends, Dan Gurney passed away on January 14, 2018. The 86-year-old American was one of the most Iconic figures of motorsport in the 1960s and, was known to introduce a host of innovations in the sport during his time as a racer and a team owner. Gurney was the first racer to spray champagne on the podium, a tradition that's since then has been a part of the sport.

The eighth stage of the 2018 Dakar rally saw unprecedented rains on the Bolivian Plateau along while traversing through sections at an altitude of 4800 metres. Sherco TVS rider dropped down to 20th in overall classifications, while Hero's CS Santosh dropped to 42nd while teammate Oriol Mena leads at 18th overall.

After a well deserved rest day at La Paz, the 2018 Dakar Rally kicked off again for its second leg with Stage 7 on Saturday. Hero MotoSports soldiered with two riders while Sherco TVS continued with lone rider in the first marathon stage of the rally. Indian rider CS Santosh made a remarkable recovery at the end of Stage 7 and finished the day in 39th position, and 40th overall.

The move has been a long coming one and is a big step towards rider safety. The airbag equipped suits will be mandatory across all classes including Moto 3 Moto2 and MotoGP.

Mahindra Racing took the first win of the year and second of this season with Felix Rosenqvist winning the Marrakesh ePrix. Rosenqvist beat race leader Sebastien Buemi to take the win, while DS Virgin Racing driver Sam Bird completed the podium finishing third. With consistent podium finishes, Rosenqvist also leads in the Formula E points standings ahead of Buemi and Bird.

Jaguar has introduced the car in the GT avatar of the F-Type, built by Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO). It's Jagars first in-built GT car in over 50 years.
