Mercedes-Benz is going full throttle on their new electric vehicle architecture, called EVA, for its four upcoming electric car models from the new EQ range.

Mercedes-Benz India will be bringing the EQ concept to the 2018 Auto Expo - The Motor Show. The carmaker is committed to introduce as many as 10 electric cars in its line-up by 2022 which will include SUVs, sedans and hatchbacks, and the EQ concept will be a preview to some of these future cars.

Infiniti expects more than half its global sales to be comprised of electric vehicles by 2025, with the first EV to debut in 2021.

A top official from the company, while talking to carandbike.com said they are closely monitoring the electric vehicle situation in the country and will start introducing EVs as soon as the government announces a proper roadmap.

Volkswagen is monitoring electric vehicle scenario in India and will be ready with its range of products for the country as soon as the market is ready, a company official said. Globally, VW has readjusted its strategy to embrace e-mobility and committed huge investments towards new generation electric vehicles from 2020.

The French automaker is using the know-how of former Opel engineers acquired from General Motors Co to develop vehicles to re-enter the U.S. market, and will offer electrification as an option on all its vehicles by 2025.

The investment will be in areas such as electric cars and self-driving automobiles, but analysts said the sum was not a surprise as Hyundai Motor already spends 4-5 trillion won annually as capital expenditure and has previously indicated it will invest in those areas.

Ashok Leyland and Phinergy will work towards the adaptation of unique, competitive, and sustainable solutions for high-energy applications in the commercial vehicles space and this also suggests that there will be an Electric CV in the making.
