The next product from Tata Motors will be the updated Safari Storme that has gone through some mechanical as well as cosmetic changes. Expected to be launched this month, the vehicle will get an updated engine and an automatic transmission.

Though the engine, 2.2-litre VariCor diesel, will remain the same, the company has tuned it to offer 10bhp more than the existing model. The updated Aria, too, features the same engine in the same state of tune. This engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

As mentioned above, the home-grown carmaker is also contemplating a 6-speed ZF automatic gearbox-equipped version of the SUV that might have the same engine with even more power output figures. This engine, with an automatic gearbox, will be tuned to produce over 160bhp and 400Nm. The same engine and gearbox will also power Tata's upcoming crossover - the Hexa.

Besides the 2015 Tata Safari Storme facelift, the company will also launch the Kite-siblings (a compact hatchback & sub-compact sedan) this year.
