Hyundai India has crossed the 8 million cars production milestone in India. Hyundai started making cars in India in 1998 by launching the Santro and the company's 8 millionth was, unsurprisingly, a Hyundai Creta.

The industry produced a total of 53,78,591 vehicles including passenger vehicles, CVs, three-wheeler, two-wheeler and quadricycle in April-May 2018.

It's a big thumbs up on the safety front too as it comes with 7 airbags including curtain and knee airbags, front parking sensors, rear parking sensor with a camera, ABS with EBD, stability control and disc brakes for all four wheels.

Honda Cars India has sold almost 10,000 units of the new Amaze subcompact sedan in India, in May. The new Amaze has also surpassed the City as the carmaker top-selling model.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has been registering strong volumes since the beginning of the calendar year and sales in May were no different. The Japanese manufacturer registered a growth of 3 per cent in May 2018 with 551,601 two-wheelers sold, as against 537,035 units sold in May last year. During the previous month, Honda's domestic sales grew by 2 per cent with 519,072 units sold, as opposed to 510,381 units sold in May 2017. The company's scooter range continues to lead the charge in volumes.

The company has completely updated its portfolio and with the launch of the i20 facelift as also the CVT version of the hatchback, Hyundai plans to firm its grip on the premium hatchback segment in the country. It was in May itself, that the company launched the facelift of the Creta too and it's just gone on sale so the actual results might have to wait a while

Suzuki sold 53,167 two-wheelers in the domestic market in May 2018, posting the highest-ever monthly sales for the second month running.

But Honda is not stopping there as the company will soon be launching the new generation of the CR-V and the Civic badge too is going to make a comeback into India very soon, both of which will just add to the numbers for Honda.
