Two cars stand on the evolution ladder - the Bolt and the Grand i10; while Hyundai wants to enter a new segment, Tata Motors wants to tell people that it's made a car that moves away from the Indica's shadow. Which one will prevail?

These cars are still not of the 'hot-hatch' level. It's a good start, and things will (hopefully) only get better and more manufacturers (again, hopefully) will embrace this relatively small-volumes segment just to help build somewhat of an enthusiast culture in the mass segment of motoring here. Amen.

The new C-Class is lighter, lither and more agile. Its also modern, beautiful and yes - it is indeed the Baby S-Class - as its been popularly called all year long. Now it's set for launch in India.

We had been itching to find out how the new entrants in the segment fared on the road, so we took the Amaze, Xcent and Zest for a spin. As for why the Swit Dzire was left out of the comparison, for starters, it is a comparatively old product.

Maruti jumped on to the bandwagon with the Dzire and then even Honda looked into that direction for a compact sedan under 4-metres. Both concocted a car that appealed to the public. We drive both to find out who triumphs.
