Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) announced that the company saw an uptick in demand during the month of June 2021. The company sold a total of 234,029 (domestic + exports) units last month, registering a growth of 11 per cent when compared to 210,879 units sold in June 2020. The company's domestic volumes stood at 212,446 units, a hike of 4.74 per cent over 202,837 units sold during the same period last year. Honda's exports stood at 21,583 units, witnessing a whopping growth of 168 per cent, as compared to 8042 units shipped overseas last year.

Speaking about the strong recovery in sales in June this year, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Director - Sales & Marketing, HMSI, said, "Almost 95 per cent of HMSI dealers have resumed business while we are gradually scaling up operations across all four plants. Overall, the two-wheeler sales performance in June '21 has boosted the market sentiment as more customers are visiting dealerships and enquiring online."

The 2021 Honda Gold Wing Tour was sold out in just a day after bookings opened

Honda's two-wheeler volumes continue to be driven by its mass-market offerings. But the company has had a renewed focus on premium products in recent months. The month of June saw the two-wheeler giant introduce the 2021 Gold Wing Tour in India while deliveries for the CBR650R and the CB650R began last month. Moreover, the Gold Wing Tour was sold out in just a day after bookings opened. Honda also expanded its BigWing dealership network across the country last month. Honda 2Wheelers India will hike prices across its range from July 3, 2021, by up to Rs. 2000.
