The TVS iQube is the latest electric scooter from TVS Motor Company which offers a well-rounded and very capable scooter in the electric scooter space, taking on primary rivals like the Ather 450X and the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter. The TVS iQube also takes on 125 cc scooters with internal combustion engines in terms of power and performance. he electric offering draws power from the 4.4 kW electric motor that develops 140 Nm of peak torque. The top speed is rated at 78 kmph. The scooter houses a 2.25 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that promises a range of 75 km on a single charge. The TVS iQube is priced at just over Rs. 1 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). Here's a quick look at the iQube's top 5 rivals.

Ather 450X
The Ather 450X is one of the finest made-in-India electric scooters available on sale right now. The Ather 450X is available in two variants, the 450X Plus and 450X Pro, with two different performance levels, available at different payment plans. The Ather 450X gets a host of connected features, with the latest over-the-air updates giving it Bluetooth connectivity, with music and calling functions via the touch sensitive instrument console. The screen offers everything from satellite navigation to incoming calls to nearest charging points. The Ather 450X has a top speed of 80 kmph, with claimed range at 85 km on a single charge. On the Ather 450X, 0 to 40 kmph is achieved in just 3.3 seconds, with range claimed at 85 km, and peak power of 6 kW (8 bhp) and torque of 26 Nm.

Bajaj Chetak
The Chetak electric scooter is Bajaj Auto's comeback to the scooter segment, at least in electric form. The Bajaj Chetak is powered by the 3.8 kW motor that develops about 5 bhp and 16.2 Nm of peak torque. The motor draws power from the 3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that promises a range of 80 km on a single charge, which can go up to 95 km in the Eco mode. The top speed on the scooter is around 70 kmph. The Chetak can be charged via a standard three-pin charging socket and takes about six to eight hours for a full charge. It does not get the option of a fast charger. In terms of features, the Chetak gets full LED lighting, Bluetooth-enabled instrument console, illuminated switch gear, and of course, the Chetak is app-friendly too. The Chetak is available in two variants, with the Urbane priced at Rs. 1.42 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi), while the Premium variant is priced at Rs. 1.44 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi).

Revolt RV400
The Revolt RV400 is an electric motorcycle from Revolt Motors, and it's seen considerable consumer interest of late, having a good run in the market. Although Revolt currently operates in only six cities, the RV400 bookings have been selling out within hours of opening, each time the company announced bookings. The RV400 comes with three riding modes, Eco, Normal and Sport, with claimd range of 150 km in Eco mode, 100 km in Normal mode and 80 km in Sport mode. The RV400's kWh lithium-ion battery can be charged 100 per cent in 4.5 hours, while the company says 75 per cent of charge can be achieved in 3 hours.

The Revolt RV400 comes with a 3KW (Mid Drive) motor, powered by a 72V, 3.24 kWh lithium-ion battery and has a top speed of 85 kmph. The electric bike can be operated through the MyRevolt App, which offers connectivity features such as bike locator/geo-fencing, customised sounds that can be changed with just a tap on the screen, complete bike diagnostics, battery status, historical data on rides and kilometres done, and also the option of locating the nearest Revolt Switch Station to swap the electric bike's battery at, and be on-the-move in less than 60 seconds.
Aprilia SXR 125
The Aprilia SXR 125 is the smaller sibling to the Aprilia SXR 160 with what Piaggio calls the CrossMax design, a sort of commuter scooter with maxi-scooter design, but without the large-ish proportions of a true blue maxi-scooter. The Aprilia SXR 125 shares the same 125 cc single-cylinder engine that currently powers the Aprilia SR 125 and the Aprilia Storm 125. Like its bigger sibling, the Aprilia SXR 160, the SXR 125 is also built on the same principle of providing style, performance and comfort, all with premium design and big, maxi-scooter looks.
The Aprilia SXR 125 is powered by a 125 cc single-cylinder engine which makes 9.4 bhp at 7,600 rpm and 9.2 Nm at 6,250 rpm. The three-valve engine is refined and the large multifunctional digital cluster offers a long list of features, including engine revs, fuel consumption indicator, top speed display, average speed display and more. The Aprilia SXR 125 boasts of an integrated dark flyscreen and ergonomically design handlebar, offering an upright riding stance. Feather touch switches, perfectly positioned seat and telescopic front suspension provide the rider with superb confidence, comfort and balance. Lockable front split glove compartments with USB charging point, bag hook at the front, and a large lit up underseat storage area offer adequate space to carry a full-face helmet, as well as other belongings.
Vespa VXL 125
The Vespa VXL 125 is powered by a petrol-powered internal combustion engine (ICE), but it's positioned as a premium scooter, although it's still one of the affordable Vespa scooters offered on sale in India. The Vespa VXL 125 is powered by a 124 cc, single-cylinder engine which makes 9.78 bhp and 9.60 Nm of peak torque. The VXL 125 gets front and rear disc brakes and also gets standard combi-brake system. The Vespa VXL 125's retro-inspired design is a homage to the Italian brand's design philosophy, and looks chic, as well as premium with superb fit and finish. It gets a part analogue, part digital instrument console and gets full-LED headlamp, a USB charger and under seat storage light. The Vespa VXL 125 is available at a starting price of Rs. 1.10 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
