1. The TVS Apache RR 310 is based on the same platform as the BMW G 310 R. Both use a Trellis frame underneath that are identical. While the BMW's unit a single frame, TVS has tweaked the rear subframe on the Apache RR 310 to suit that of a sportbike.
2. The TVS Apache RR 310 is identical to the Akula 310 in design, but has lost the sharpness that we loved on the concept. This has been in favour of a more aerodynamic design on the production-spec version, which the company says was derived after countless hours of wind tunnel testing. That said, the design has been inspired from a shark, which can be seen on the nose and the gills on the side fairing. The side gills also double up as heat deflectors pushing the heat away from the rider.
3. The Apache RR 310 uses a LED projector headlamps, while the LED taillights have been designed to look like the devil's horn. The nose down-tail up design is sharp and makes for aggressive styling too.
4. The riding position on the Apache RR 310 isn't extremely aggressive as you would hope. Unlike its rival the KTM RC 390, the bike gets a slightly relaxed riding stance. The foot pegs continue to be rear-biased while the clip-on handlebars sit high enough for relaxed hands.
5. The TVS Apache RR 310 uses the same 312 cc single-cylinder, reverse inclined, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine as the BMW G 310 R. The motor is largely calibrated as that on the G 310 R and churns out 33.5 bhp at 9700 rpm and 27.3 Nm of peak torque at 7700 rpm. However, there have been slight changes for a different feel over the BMW. The engine comes paired to a 6-speed transmission.

6. Compared to the G 310 R, the TVS Apache RR 310 uses a sprocket with 41 teeth, larger than that of the BMW. This has been done for better low end acceleration, while the aerodynamically designed body shell helps the bike achieve a higher top end.
7. TVS says the new Apache RR 310 can do 0-60 kmph in 2.93 seconds, while 0-100 kmph comes up in 7.17 seconds. TVS claims a top speed of 160 kmph, while the G 310 R tops out at 145 kmph. A custom ECU has also been used by TVS on its new flagship.
8. The suspension setup on the Apache RR 310 comes from Kayaba. The bike uses 41 mm USD forks up front and a monoshock setup at the rear. The bike maker says it has worked closely with KYB to tune the suspension for agile handling and the bike certainly delivers when attacking a corner.
9. Braking performance comes from a 300 mm single petal disc at the front and a 240 mm petal disc at the rear. The bike comes with dual channel ABS as standard. Making the contact with tarmac are Michelin Pilot Street tyres with a 110/70 front and 150/60 rear setup.
10. TVS' latest offering faces competition from a host of rivals. The full faired version will be locking horns against KTM RC 390, its biggest rival followed by the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Benelli 302R. Meanwhile, in a similar price and displacement bracket, you also get the KTM 390 Duke, Bajaj Dominar as well as the upcoming BMW G 310 R.
