Apple CarPlay To Get Google Maps With iOS 12 Update
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have dramatically changed the in-car connectivity experience as we increasingly integrate smartphones in almost every aspect of our daily lives. While Google's Android Auto has managed to provide a larger universe of apps via Android Auto, Apple has been largely hesitant in offering third party content on its service. That however, will change later this year as the tech company plans to make certain third party apps available on Apple CarPlay. For those who prefer using Google Maps over Apple Maps, you will soon be able to do so once the iOS 12 update rolls-out.

Nissan Stops Development Of Future Diesel Powerplants Globally

Nissan is the latest in a long line of auto makers that have announced plans to end development of diesel engines. According to reports, the Japanese automaker will work towards phasing out diesel engines and it has already stopped selling diesel powered passenger cars in markets in Japan. Diesel engines around the world are nearing a point of extinction. With automakers like the FCA group, which includes the likes of Fiat and Jeep already announcing a phase out of diesel engines in select markets globally by 2022 and cities in Europe imposing bans on diesel powered cars in certain areas, it is only a matter of time the development of new diesel power plants slows down or comes to a complete halt. Fellow automaker Toyota too had announced plans of phasing out diesel engines in the near past.

General Motors might have left behind the lucrative Indian market but they are looking into the future with their automotive startup Cruise, a technology company that will make Level 5 autonomous tech. In addition, General Motors will also invest an additional $1.1 Billion post the SoftBank investment into Cruise thereby giving it a big push towards quicker and faster - and more modern tech.

Just recently, we brought you news about how the Model 3 had a braking issue - which was subsequently fixed by an on-air upgrade that updated the ABS module. Tesla has also had its fair share of crashes, including a fatality recently while the cars have been on autopilot or the level 4 autonomous mode and this had prompted a group of Tesla owners to take the automaker to court over the actual usability of the Autopilot system. However, to avoid a full fledged class action lawsuit, Tesla has settled the case by paying an undisclosed amount.
