The drop in sales is primarily attributed to supply constraints due to the ongoing chip shortage globally.

Tata Motors Group's total wholesales for Q2 FY2022 stood at 2,51,689 units. Compared to Q2 FY2021, the company witnessed a growth of 24 per cent, but against Q1 FY2022 Tata Motors registered a growth of 17 per cent.

Compared to August 2021, Jeep India witnessed a month-on-month (MoM) growth of 13 per cent in September 2021, selling 1377 vehicles in the country. At the same time Jeep India more than doubled its Year-on-Year (YoY) sales, with an increase of 144 per cent.

The growth was led by the Volvo Car India's luxury SUV segment and the XC60 stood out to be the bestselling model followed by the compact SUV XC40.

The BMW Group comprising BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brands collectively sold 19,32,236 units between January and September 2021, registering a growth of 17.9 per cent year-on-year. The company's EV sales saw a big boost during this period.

Mahindra now has an accrued income of Rs. 10,000 crore through these 50,000 bookings which will be added to its sales revenue once these units are invoiced and delivered.

Mercedes-Benz India has announced nearly doubling its sales volume in the third quarter of the calendar year 2021. Between July and September 2021, the company sold 4101 units in India, achieving a 99 per cent growth compared to 2060 units sold during the same period in 2020.

Since its launch on October 2 last year, the Mahindra Thar has become the bestselling four-wheel-drive (4WD) SUV in India and it crossed the 55,000 bookings mark earlier in May this year.
