While cumulative domestic sales were up exports in the month were down 33 per cent affecting the firm’s overall sales numbers.

Mahindra posted overall sales of 64,486 units in the month – up 129% over September 2021 – making September its best month yet.

The motorcycle giant reported a two-fold growth of 145 per cent year-on-year with 82,097 units sold, as against 33,529 units sold during September 2021.

Suzuki Motorcycle India registered a year-on-year growth of 27.6 per cent with 86,750 units sold last month.

The record sales growth is primarily attributed to the sales performance on new launches like the Virtus sedan and Taigun SUV.

The substantial surge in the sales growth of passenger vehicles is primarily attributed to the low base owing to the semiconductor chip crisis last year.

Kia India reported a year-on-year sales growth of 79 per cent in the month with the Seltos firmly remaining the brand’s best-seller.

Month-on-Month cumulative sales grew by 20 per cent over August 2022.
