Tata Motors today announced registering a growth of 34 per cent in passenger vehicle sales with 17,235 units as against 12,827 units sold during the same month last year. The company attributed its growth in the domestic market to the strong momentum of its popular hatchback Tiago and the new subcompact SUV Nexon.

In the passenger vehicles segment (which includes UVs, Cars and Vans) the company sold 21,927 vehicles, a growth of 13 per cent while in the commercial vehicle segment, the company sold 18,963 vehicles, registering a 26 per cent growth.

Honda 2Wheelers has reported registering the highest ever sales record on a single day, on Akshay Tritiya. Honda says that its single-day retail sales grew by more than 80 per cent, with the company breaching the highest ever mark for the first time ever on this auspicious day.

Sonalika has recorded a robust growth of 56 per cent in the Q4 FY'18, surpassing the industry growth.

Mahindra sold 3.04 lakh units in FY18 in the domestic market and 3.19 lakh units including the domestic market and exports in FY18.

A report by ICRA says that the two-wheeler segment in India has seen robust growth in sales volumes for FY2018. It is the highest since FY2011.

Volkswagen has posted its highest ever sales figures for Q1 in its long history as an automaker with 15,25,300 vehicles sold the world over. As compared to the same period last year, sales for the automaker are up by a considerable 5.9 per cent. Although the brand has seen some turmoil in the last few years, including the scathing Dieselgate scandal and more recently, the animal testing scandal, Volkswagen has continued to stay a popular brand amongst car buyers worldwide. Just in march alone, the German automaker has sold a record 5,84,700 units

In the first quarter of 2018, Toyota sold more than 280,000 vehicles in Europe, which is a growth of 4 percent over the same period last year.
