Porsche continued to grow in 2017 with deliveries of around 246,000 vehicles worldwide. The Stuttgart-based sports car manufacturer has exceeded the previous record set in 2016 by 4 per cent. A significant boost came from roughly 28,000 deliveries of the new Panamera; an increase of 83 per cent compared to the previous year.

In addition to the Panamera, the 718 models too showed promise as around 25,000 units of the cars have been delivered which marked a 6 per cent increase in sales year-on-year. 32,000 units of the 911 were sold worldwide, however, the Macan beat the 911 by a huge margin, showing that the trend of SUVs is growing across the globe. Porsche managed to sell, 97,000 units of the Macan which is a growth of 2 per cent year-on-year.

"The hybrid models of the new Panamera in particular are very well received by customers, validating our product strategy. The Turbo S E-Hybrid, as the top model in the line, is a clear embodiment of performance and efficiency. It sets new benchmarks in its class", says Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board responsible for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG. Von Platen is optimistic regarding 2018: "With our product range and the strong sales regions of Europe, Asia and America, we are well positioned."

China remains the largest single market for Porsche with over 71,000 vehicles delivered, exceeding 2017 by 10 per cent. The USA and Europe markets showed a steady growth of 2 per cent.
