Mahindra is all set to launch its first premium fullsize SUV in India - the Alturas G4. The Mahindra Alturas G4 is the new flagship SUV from the company and is set to make its entry into a new segment. Now there are already some established players here in the form of the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour along with the Isuzu MU-X and the Alturas certainly has its work cut out for it. The Mahindra Alturas G4 is basically the fourth generation Ssangyong Rexton but unlike last time, Mahindra is selling it under its own badge.

The all-new Mahindra Alturas G4 is set to go on sale in India this week, on November 24, and it'll be the company's new flagship SUV. The new SUV is essentially a rebadged version of the fourth-generation SsangYong G4 Rexton that will be sold in Indian as a Mahindra product.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has notified the insertion of the item 'Quadricycle' as a 'non transport' vehicle under the Motor Vehicles Act 1988. So far, the Quadricycle vehicles were only allowed for transport usage under the Motor Vehicle Act 1988 but this notification will now permit Quadricycles to be used as a non-transport or passenger vehicles. This move will certainly help manufacturers like Bajaj Auto India who have been fighting for the inclusion of the Quadricycle. The Bajaj Qute will finally be available for sale and though the company already exports the quadricycle to other markets, it's inclusion in India will certainly see sales soaring.

Festive season is generally the period when all the automakers try to cash in the market demand which is generally high. However, this year the customer sentiments have not been positive and that has reflected quite significantly in the sales of the 42 days festive period. According to the data published by Federation Of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), retail sales of passenger vehicles posted a de-growth of 14 per cent selling 287,717 units in the festive period 2018 compared to 333,456 units which were sold in the festival period last year. The sales to two wheelers too witnessed a slump of 13 per cent at 15,83,276 units sold this year in the festive season compared to 18,11,703 units which were sold in last year's festive season.

BMW India has announced to increase the prices across its product range by up to 4 per cent from January 2019. The rise in prices could be because of the cyclical revision which happens due various macro-economic factors such as increase in the input cost or freight rates due to increase in fuel prices. However, BMW India has not cited any such reason. According to the information, the increase in prices is only limited to BMW and Mini cars which sold through 44 sales channels across India. The information does not mention anything about BMW Motorrad.
