2020 Jeep Gladiator Debuts At 2018 LA Auto Show

The all-new Jeep Gladiator pick-up has been unveiled at the 2018 LA Auto Show. The Jeep Gladiator is based on the five-door Jeep Wrangler and rides on traditional body-on-frame chassis and will be produced at the Toledo plant in Ohio alongside the Wrangler. The top hat too inherits high strength aluminium doors, hinges, hood, fenders windshield frame and tailgate from the Wrangler but also has a five-foot long steel bed to carry cargo. There will be two hard-top and one soft-top variant available in the Gladiator range and the rest of the profile is exactly similar to the Jeep Wrangler.

An electric car that could take on Silicon Valley's Tesla Incis part of the massive investment in electric vehicles that Europe's largest carmaker plans to make. Volkswagen announced earlier this month it would spend almost 44 billion euros ($50 billion) on developing electric cars, autonomous driving and new mobility services by 2023, while exploring areas of cooperation with U.S. automaker Ford Motor.

Daimler (DAIGn.DE) will start building electric cars in China next year as a way to meet Beijing's stringent anti-pollution quotas for carmakers, even as demand for conventional models like the Mercedes-Benz Maybach remains strong. China has introduced minimum sales requirements for so-called new energy vehicles (NEV's) and Daimler is on track to meet the quota for 2018, Daimler China chief Hubertus Troska said on Wednesday. We are very confident about fulfilling the NEV quotas," Troska said, adding that a new fully electric vehicle will be added to local production. "We begin production end of next year," Troska said about the Mercedes-Benz EQC electric model.

BMW is considering a second U.S. manufacturing plant that could produce engines and transmissions, Chief Executive Harald Krueger said on Tuesday, shortly after a report that U.S. President Donald Trump would impose tariffs on imported cars from next week. Krueger in an interview at the Los Angeles Auto Show also said he backed British Prime Minister Theresa May's current Brexit plan to divorce the United Kingdom from the European Union.

At the front, the body is 45 mm wider and it also gets electrical pop-out handles in the doors. The bonnet with a pronounced recess evokes the design of the first 911 generations. At the rear, all models feature a wider, variable-position rear spoiler and the seamless, elegant light strip. Apart from the front and rear sections, the entire outer shell is now made from aluminium.

Codenamed S201, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza rival is all set to be christened on December 1, 2018. The all-new offering is an eagerly awaited one and is in fact the second SsangYong-based model to go sale in the country. The Mahindra S201 is the Indian automaker's derivative of the SsangYong Tivoli and will be a premium urban offering loaded on tech. Apart from the Brezza, the S201 will also lock horns against the Ford EcoSport, and will be positioned above NuvoSport and TUV300 subcompact SUVs in Mahindra's stable.
