Highlights

TVS Motor Company is all set to launch its most awaited product for 2016, the Apache 200 this month. Slated to be launched on January 20 in Chennai, the bike will receive improved styling, new features and more powerful engine, which is claimed to make the Apache 200 the fastest in its segment. Recently some new information has surfaced according to which TVS is likely to christen its new 200cc Apache - Apache RTR 200 4V.

Apparently TVS Motor Company is subsequently planning to launch the bike in Indonesia a day later on the 21st of January 2015. The bike has already been teased on TVS' Indonesian website and according to the media invitation that has surfaced the bike will be named TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. Now we cannot confirm whether TVS will go with the same name in India as well, we don't see any reason not to.

Coming to the bike itself the new TVS Apache RTR 200 RV will be powered by a 200cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled carburetted engine with an oil cooler and 4 valves. This might give you an idea as to why there is a 4V in the name. As for power figures the new engine is claimed to produce maximum of 26bhp and a peak torque of 22Nm, while mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Additionally TVS is also expected to launch two variants of the Apache 200, which will be announced on January 20. One variant is expected to be the standard version with 17-inch alloy wheels, petal discs and TVS tyres. A premium variant is also expected, one featuring Pirelli rubber and dual-channel ABS. Some other features you will be seeing in the new TVS Apache are telescopic fork suspension at the front and monoshock at the rear. Braking duties will be taken care of by 270 mm and 250 mm petal disc brakes at the front and rear respectively.
