Latest images show a new small-capacity adventure bike from Honda which will be a little more off-road capable than the Honda CB200X launched in India. Called the Honda CRF190L, the new adventure-ready model will have more off-road capability, and will have the same basic premise of introducing adventure riding to newer and less-experienced riders. Initially slated for launch in the Chinese market, the Honda CRF190L is expected to be launched sometime towards the end of the current year, and is expected to be based on the same platform as the made-in-India Honda CB200X, itself based on the Honda Hornet 2.0.

The Honda CRF190L is expected to be based on the made-in-India Honda CB200X

Unlike the Honda CB200X though, the CRF190L will come with long-travel suspension, wire spoke wheels and dual-purpose tyres, making it more off-road ready than the CB200X. The engine is expected to be the same unit, shared with the made-in-India Honda Hornet 2.0. The 184.4 cc, single-cylinder engine puts out 17 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 16.1 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm and is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine gets Honda's programmed fuel injection with 8 on-board sensors which constantly inject optimum fuel and air mixture for better efficiency and performance.

The Honda CRF190L will have more suspension travel, wire spoked wheels and dual-sport tyres for off-road use.

However, all this is conjecture at this point. The exact specifications of the Honda CRF190L will be revealed when the bike is launched later this year. The CRF190L will certainly make for an approachable and affordable adventure bike, which will be lightweight, and un-intimidating. For now, it's expected to make its debut in China, and if it proves to be successful, Honda my consider introducing it in other markets, and possibly even manufacture it in India.
