TVS Jupiter, the popular 110 cc scooter from the home-grown two-wheeler manufacturer has been launched in India with an updated BS-IV compliant engine. The prices remain unchanged with the base variant launched at Rs. 49,666 and the top-of-the-line ZX variant with disc brake priced at Rs. 53,666 (All ex-showroom, Delhi). The Jupiter is the second scooter from TVS Motor Company to get a BS-IV engine this year after the TVS Wego. Like its other 110 cc sibling, the updated TVS Jupiter now also comes with Automatic Headlamp On (AHO) function in line with the new safety norms. The Jupiter will now also be available in two new colour options - Jade Green and Mystic Gold, along with the existing colours.
Talking about the updated TVS Jupiter, Aniruddha Haldar, Vice President Marketing- Scooters, TVS Motor Company, said, "TVS Jupiter has received such enthusiasm from the consumers, in response to its credo of 'Zyada ka Fayda'. Living true to this credo not only is the entire Jupiter range now BSIV compliant, it now offers the unique Sync Braking System (SBS) across the entire range (earlier only available on the ZX range). Further, for our customers, we are adding two colours Jade Green and Mystic Gold, giving them 10 colour options to choose from."
Apart from being BS-IV compliant, the powertrain remains unchanged as the Jupiter continues to use the same all-aluminium, low-friction 109.7 cc single-cylinder engine tuned to produce 8 bhp of power at 7500 rpm and 8 Nm of torque at 5500 rpm. The motor comes paired to an automatic transmission. The metal bodied, TVS Jupiter is styled to have a substantial on-road presence, which delivers high-performance ride quality with superior ride comfort. The scooter also comes with TVS patented Econometer, which guides riders in both 'Eco Mode' and 'Power Mode' and the engine delivers best-in-class fuel economy in 'Eco' mode. The BS-IV compliance is denoted by the sticker seen on the front panel.
The TVS Jupiter is one of the most popular 110 cc scooters in India and the company has sold over 1.5 million units of the scooter till now. The Jupiter rivals the likes of the newly launched Honda Activa 4G, Mahindra Gusto and the Hero Maestro Edge. The new Jupiter has already reached dealerships and can now been booked at TVS showrooms across India.
