The Supreme Court essentially dismissed an appeal filed by the Society of India Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) against a Madhya Pradesh High Court order of November 2008 which had banned registration of motorcycles which did not have safety features for pillion riders like a saree guard.

Prices of BMW bikes in India have been slashed by 10 per cent, leading to price cuts across the entire motorcycle model range in India.

While we expected it to be launched at Auto Expo 2018, India Kawasaki Motor has silently introduced the Z900RS naked motorcycle. The bike is priced at Rs. 15.30 lakh (ex-showroom), which is much higher than expected and puts the bike quite literally in a league of its own. Triumph has filed patents for the name 'Triumph Daytona' in America and Europe, hinting towards the all-new Daytona 765 in the making.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced prices for the 2018 CB 125 Shine SP commuter motorcycle. Prices for the 2018 Honda CB Shine SP start at Rs. 62,032 for the drum variant, while the disc version is priced at Rs. 64,518. Meanwhile, the 2018 CB Shine SP with CBS will cost you Rs. 66,508 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).

As part of the company's plans to launch 100 new models in the next five years, Harley-Davidson has unveiled two new models in the Sportster range. Both the Harley-Davidson Iron 1200 and Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight Special are powered by the Evolution 1200 engine.

Harley-Davidson has been quite actively building towards an electric future and even showcased the Project LiveWire concept in 2014 as a preview for what's to come. Moving in the same direction, Harley-Davidson has filed a trademark application to use the name "H-D Revelation" for its upcoming electric motorcycle technology.
