Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has closed financial year 2017-18 on a record high. The two-wheeler maker registered a growth of 22 per cent for FY2017-18, retaling 61,23,886 units, as opposed to 50,08,230 units in FY2016-17. The Japanese manufacturer added an additional one million customers in the last financial year, creating a new world record.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has seen marginal growth ever since the beginning of the year, but the company saw a decline in volumes for March 2018. The automaker sold 13,537 units last month (domestic and exports), a drop of 16 per cent in volumes, as compared to 14,432 units sold in March 2017. Toyota sold a total of 12,539 units in the domestic market last month, while 998 units of the Etios were exported.

Honda today announced achieving a growth of 8 per cent in the domestic market during the 2017-18 financial year. Between April 2017 and March 2018, the Japanese carmaker sold over 1.7 lakh vehicles in India, against the 1.57 lakh+ vehicles sold during the same month last fiscal year.

TVS Motor Company registered a sales growth of 17.8 per cent for the 2017-18 financial year. The company sold 33.67 lakh two-wheelers in the previous fiscal, up from 28.58 lakh units that were sold during the 2016-17 financal year. The Hosur-based manufacturer also ended FY2017-18 on a high with the company registering a sales growth of 27 per cent, increasing from 256,341 units in March 2017 to 326,659 units in March 2018.

Suzuki's overall cumulative sales for the financial year, including exports, stood at 5,74,787 units, an increase of 36 per cent over the last-year.

Mahindra has announced a sales growth of 10 per cent for the last month of the 2017-18 financial year. In March 2018, the company registered total sales of 62,077 vehicles, against the 56,202 vehicles sold during March 2017.
