German luxury car major Audi continues to dominate its number one position in the Indian luxury car segment staying ahead despite growing competition. The car maker clocked sales of 2,740 units in the January-March quarter (it's highest quarterly no), amidst the overall gloom in motown.

The A3 sedan - Audi's cheapest offering for India will be launched in the third quarter, 2014. However, the production might start in the middle of the year. The company will bring the A3 via CKD (completely knocked down unit) route, and then assemble it at its Indian facility to price the vehicle competitively.

The company plans to commence its business in Philippines with exports of its cars including Manza, Vista, Indigo, Indica from its passenger vehicle segment, while the Xenon, Ace and Super Ace from its commercial vehicle portfolio.

First showcased as a prototype at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo, the production-ready version of the Mahindra Mojo 300 finally made its debut at the recent edition of the Indian Auto Expo in February 2014. It will be launched in June 2014 and pitted against the likes of Ninja 300 and the Duke 390.

The new Jaguar XE will be the first product to utilise the new aluminium architecture, which was showcased in the C-X17 concept vehicle in 2013. According to the company, the aluminium structure will help the car in 'exceptional handling, performance, refinement and efficiency'.
