The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is in the process to make crash tests mandatory for passenger cars in India. To meet the regulations, carmakers will need to have several standard safety features including airbags.

Japanese automaker Isuzu Motors is likely to soon set up a truck manufacturing plant at Sri City SEZ in Andhra Pradesh. Isuzu vice-president Masanori Khatayama discussed the matter in a meeting today with visiting state Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is on a tour to Japan.
