2014 Auto Expo- New 2014 Chevrolet Beat Facelift Showcased

After a long wait, the updated Chevrolet Beat has finally made its Indian debut at the ongoing Indian Auto Expo. Known as the 'Spark' in the American market, the facelifted version of the hatchback was globally unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The hatchback facelift will be launched sometime in the first or second quarter of 2014.
Wearing new automatic headlamps, a new front grille, fog lamps, a new front bumper and ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, the new Beat facelift appears to be sportier, stylish and more outgoing than its predecessor. The rear too gets updated with new tail lamps, stylish rear spoiler, redesigned rear bumper and a high mounted stop light.
The 2014 Beat facelift looks very familiar inside, but is definietly more up-market than before. The hatchback comes equipped with several new features such as Chevrolet's MyLink touch radio system, a full-size USB port instead of the mini USB port, redesigned central console, high-quality seat upholstery and more. It features ABS with EDB, airbags, seatbelts and various other safety measures.
The new Beat facelift comes powered with the 1.2-litre petrol and 0.9-litre diesel, which are found with its existing model. The 1.2-litre, 1199cc, four cylinder, 16 valve, DOCH petrol engine produces a peak power output of 79bhp with 108Nm of torque. The Euro-IV compliant engine is combined with a five-speed manual transmission.
The company will also bring in an an automatic transmission version of the car. Since, it's just a mid-life makeover given to the car, expect the car to come at the same price. However, the company hasn't yet officially said anything on this.
