Yamaha Motors India, the local arm of the Japanese motorcycle giant, today announced the celebration of World Environment Day at its offices and plants across India. In its official statement released by the company today, Yamaha Motors India shared the happening of the first day of this environment week. Employees and senior management in all three Yamaha plants, located at Surajpur, Faridabad and Chennai - engaged in tree plantation activity and awareness drills. In order to promote the cause among employees, the company distributed over 5,000 'Tulsi' saplings across its facilities and even organised environment theme related entertainment activities for employees.

Additionally, in the broader context of Sustainable Development, Yamaha Motors India has adopted the concept of '3R' (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) through '3E' (Easy to Make, Easy to Repair, Easy to Disassemble) in all phases of product lifecycles. The same are also evident at its work places through sustainable resource consumption and production practices.

Tree Plantatation Activity at Yamaha Motors India Facility

But that is not it, the company had even organised "Free Pollution Check-up" camps, which were conducted at 32 Yamaha dealerships across various cities including Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata etc. This check-up camp took place on June 4th and all the customers who visited the showrooms on that day were given Tulsi saplings to promote World Environment Day. With this initiative, Yamaha Motors India also trying to promote itself as a responsible corporate, and says it has always laid emphasis on care for the Environment. Yamaha Motors India currently has a countrywide network of over 2,200 customer touch-points including 500 dealers and service centres.
