  • Xiaomi is trying to keep up with surging domestic demand for its vehicles.
  • The waiting periods for Xiaomi’s YU7 presently stretches beyond a year.
  • The YU7 received 2.89 lakh orders within an hour of its price announcement.

Facing a huge surge in orders following the domestic launch of the YU7 SUV, Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has stated it will only consider EV exports from 2027. The carmaker received close to 3 lakh orders for its maiden SUV within hours of orders opening in China, and as a result, it will focus on its home market for now. Xiaomi, which only forayed into the automotive world a year ago, is still in the process of ramping up production to help meet the overwhelming demand for both of its cars. The incredible response for the YU7 has led to waiting periods of over a year, creating a problem of plenty for the company.
