Suzuki Motorcycle India recorded an eight per cent growth in January 2022 sales year-on-year. The company sold a total of 70,092 units last month, which included 60,623 units in the domestic market and 9,469 units for exports. With sales on the decline for the Indian two-wheeler sector at large, Suzuki has managed to swim against the tide during these challenging times. The company also announced that it has been able to grow by 37.1 per cent so far in the current financial year 2021-22.

Commenting on the performance, Satoshi Uchida, MD - Suzuki Motorcycle India, said, "We are delighted to announce that we have successfully registered over 8 per cent sales growth in January 2022 as compared to January 2021. It is very satisfying that despite the global semiconductor shortage and difficulties thrown by Covid-19, the company recorded growth in the domestic and exports market. Despite the headwinds that the Industry has experienced we have been able to grow by 37.1 per cent so far in the current financial year."

Deliveries of the new Suzuki Avenis 125 scooter began in January 2022

"This sales uptick was made possible with the support of all our customers, dealer partners, and staff members. With a cautious yet optimistic outlook, we are confident that we will continue to experience steady demand both from the domestic and overseas markets in the future too." Uchida added further.

Suzuki Motorcycle India also registered a production milestone in January 2022 with the rollout of its six millionth vehicle from the Gurugram facility. The company commenced deliveries of the Suzuki Avenis 125 scooter last month that takes on the TVS Jupiter 125, Honda Grazia, Aprilia SXR 125 and the likes.
