Highlights

Tata Motors, who had decided to rename its upcoming hatchback Zica, has apparently finalised on three new names for the car - Civet, Tiago and Adore. The carmaker had organised a special online campaign - Fantastico name hunt contest, which ran for three days on its social media, to find a new name for the car. And now the brand's followers will get a chance to select it. Out of the three new names the one with the highest vote from the audience will be the new moniker for Tata Zica.

Now, as we reported earlier, the reason why Tata Motors has decided to rename the Zica hatchback is to avoid any controversy pertaining to the Zika virus outbreak and at the same time empathising with the thousands of life the virus took. But the carmaker had already invested a lot of time and money in naming and marketing campaigns for the car. And the sudden change in name would have had a negative impact on the car. So in order to keep the buzz alive and simultaneously find a new name for the car, Tata organised the social media campaign, where people were given a change to help in naming the car, thereby creating a more personalised connection with its customers.

Coming to the car itself, Tata's new hatchback comes with a stylish exterior profile and smartly designed interior, which adds a bit of freshness to the regular Indica-style design. Under the hood the Tata Zica will come with two engine options, an all-new 67bhp 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder Revotorq diesel motor and the 83bhp 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Revotron petrol unit that does duty in the Zest and the Bolt. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox and possibly an AMT unit as well.
