Tata Motors has released a teaser for its upcoming Harrier Dark Edition and the all-black look will soon extend to more cars in the automaker's line-up. While the Tata Harrier Dark Edition was already available, and it was extremely popular, Tata seems to be introducing an updated model, and the Altroz premium hatchback and the Nexon EV subcompact SUV will also be part of the 2021 range. The automaker has not announced a launch date yet for the new Dark Edition range but the models could arrive as early as next week. More recently, the Tata Altroz Dark Edition was spotted at a dealership, images of which have made it to the internet. The special edition version looks menacing and brings a handful of upgrades to distinguish it better from the other variants. This includes the 'Dark' emblem on the front fender, the gloss-black paint scheme, black coloured dual-tone alloy wheels, and matte black finished badging. It also gets black ORVMs and skid plates to complete the look.

The Altroz Dark Edition also gets an all-black interior that looks more premium as compared to the standard grey version

Inside, the Tata Altroz Dark Edition comes with blacked out interiors that does look more premium than the standard grey cabin. Several elements are now finished in piano-black including the gloss panel on the dashboard. More recently, the automaker updated the Altroz by removing physical buttons for the infotainment system. That can be seen here too.

With respect to specifications and features, the Tata Altroz Dark Edition won't get any changes. The model will continue to get the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. It would be interesting to see if the Dark Edition extends to the iTurbo model introduced earlier this year. The feature list is extensive on the Altroz including auto headlamps with LED DRLs, rain sensing wipers, ambient lighting, rear AC vents, infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and more.

Expect to see a similar set of changes on the Tata Nexon EV Dark Edition. This will include the all-black paint scheme, alloy wheels, cabin, and matte black badges. The upcoming model will certainly add to the model's popularity and full marks to Tata for going ahead with a special edition version on its EV. Do not expect any powertrain upgrades to the electric SUV. It will continue to draw power from the 95 kW electric motor that packs 127 bhp and 245 Nm of peak torque. The company claims a range of 312 km (ARAI certified) on a single charge.

The Tata Altroz Dark Edition looks menacing and is likely to be offered on the mid and top trims

The Tata Altroz Dark Edition is likely to be offered on the mid and top - XT and XZ variants of the hatchback, and prices could be at a premium of Rs. 20,000-30,000 over the standard versions. Meanwhile, the Nexon EV Dark Edition could be restricted to the XZ+ and XZ+ Lux trims commanding a similar premium. Lastly, we could see subtle tweaks to the 2021 Tata Harrier Dark Edition that started it all for the automaker.
