Bentley has revealed a new S variant of the Continental GT. Compared to the standard Continental GT, the S gets tweaks to improve driving dynamics along with a number of darkened cosmetic touches to stand out from other variants. The Continental GT S is the fifth variant of the current-gen grand tourer and will go on sale alongside the Mulliner, Speed, Azure and standard Continental GT. The S variant is available in both the coupe and convertible body styles.
The Continental GT & GTC S get Bentley's 48V active roll control system as standard.
Starting with what's underneath the skin, the Continental GT and GTC S use the company's twin-turbo V8 engine. The unit develops the same 542 bhp and 770 Nm as on the standard Continental GT V8 but comes fitted with a sports exhaust as standard on the S to “amplify the cross-plane V8 beat”. Bentley says that the V8 was chosen as it was lighter and more free revving than the flagship W12 used in the Continental GT Speed.
Buyers can choose between two wheel sizes - 21-inches or 22-inches.
Additionally, the S gets Bentley's Dynamic Ride 48V anti-roll system featuring electric motors within the anti-roll bars to help control body movements during hard cornering.
Coming to the exterior, the S variants stand out by their use of darkened chrome trimmings including for the grille, light surrounds and door and window trimmings. Only the winged B badge on the bonnet is still finished in regular chrome. Buyers have two-wheel sizes to choose from 21-inches or 22-inches with both sets featuring a darkened finish.
Dual tone cabin wrapped in leather and Dinamica.
Inside the cabin is finished in two-tone upholstery featuring a mix of Dinamica and leather across surfaces. Buyers can additionally have the letter ‘S' or Bentley's logo embroidered into the seat headrests. Additionally, the instrument cluster gets graphics derived from the top-sped W12 Continental GT Speed.
